Festival / Event

Tondabayashi has many ineresting events, but, especially, PL fireworks are known to many people well.

PL fireworks are held on August 1st every year.

It is said that PL fireworks is the festival,but it is Memorial of PL religion founder.

When he died, he ask people of religion to do big fireworks every year.

Every year, many people came to my town to see the fireworks, about  250000 to 300000 people.

The ending of it is so amaging, we feel that the view of around us is very bright, like day time.

The climax color change every year, depending on PL high school's game score of baseball.

Another festival is "Jinai-machi Lantern"

This festival is in evenig in end of summer.

The lantern which is drawn the picture of summer or witten poem put on along the Jinai-machi street.

In addition, the concert and the exhibition of art are held there.

The sightseeing is very beautiful, it is so visionary.

Many people in this town take part in this festival.

Local industry

There is a public housing of smaller enterprises, so food, mochines, and etc. are produced.
 Especially, one of the most famous products in Tondabayashi is  "Sudare"(a bamboo blind).

It made in Tondabayashi is high-grade.
In agricultural products, eggplant and strawberry are famous in Tondabayashi.

Famous Person

There are some famous person in Tondabayashi city.
For example, Tsuneyasu Miyamoto is a soccer player and Kazuo Matsui is baseball Player in Japan.
They take an active part in the world of sports today in the world.
In history, Tsuyuko Isonokami is the most famous person in Tondabayashi town.

She was a poetess in Meiji era, and she left many poems and novels the future.

Her house was entried Important Cultural properties because her house is the oldest buildings in Tondabayashi town.

Name

Long time ago, Tondabayashi town was located on river terrace of Ishikawa. This terrace was called "Tondagashiba(富田が芝)" "Tondabayashi" originated from this reason.
In addition, "Tondabayashi" 's Chinese character is "富田林" These Chinese character means wealth, rice field and wood. In short, our town has great nature.

General description

 Tondabayashi city is located the south east of Osaka, and Tondabayashi town is the center of the Tondabayashi city.

 This area size is about and Population of this area is about 1300 people.
 There is a river called Ishikawa. It is located Nouth and South.
 There are many old houses, it's called machiya, and historical buildings in Tondabayashi town. These houses gather and stand in the line. The area like these is called "Jinaimachi" It has very long history.
 Jinaimachi is the old autonomous colony which created by Buddhism temples in Muromachi era , and it was surrounded by ditches and walls because protecting by enemies.
 Jinaimachi has no supermarket, restaurant, and other store,because of protecting old scene of this area, but out of this area have many kinds of shops.
